What standard you need
We look for players with top-level local league or county experience. Almost everyone who gets in touch says they are intermediate, which tells us nothing, so we go by the level you have actually played at.
Below that, you are better off somewhere that will develop you, and we will point you at the other clubs and divisions in the Coventry league rather than leave you guessing.
Not sure which side of it you are on? Email and say what you have played.
What happens on the night
Games are made up on a pegboard rather than left to whoever you arrived with, so you will play with a spread of the membership across the evening. Four courts, doubles, and the standard of game varies with who is on the board.
Everyone who plays is registered with Badminton England, which is what insures you. That happens once you join, not before you visit.
Match nights
Home fixtures are Tuesday, 19:30 to 21:30, running to 22:00 on a double header. Only fixture weeks are booked, so there is no Tuesday session every week. Club night can carry a fixture too, and goes on until 22:00 when it does.
What to bring
- A racket you are happy with.
- Non-marking indoor shoes. Sports hall floors need them and outdoor soles are turned away.
- Water. There is no bar.
Two members offer stringing, so a restring can be arranged at the club.
Who to email
